التسمية

ξ Persei تسمية باير اسمة التقليدي من العربية منكب Menkib, Menchib, Menkhib او Al Mankib, من Mankib في الثريا كتف حامل رأس الغول في عام 2016، نظم الاتحاد الفلكي الدولي فريق عمل للأسماء النجوم (WGSN) لفهرست وتوحيد الأسماء الخاصة للنجوم. استحسن الفريق اسم Menkib لهذا النجم في 12 أيلول 2016 ,و هو الآن مدخل في فهرس الاتحاد الفلكي الدولي للأسماء النجوم.[9]
