رافائيل كاريرا

خوسيه رافائيل كاريرا تورسيوس (بالإسبانية: Rafael Carrera y Turcios)‏ (24 أكتوبر 1814 - 14 أبريل 1865) كان رئيس غواتيمالا من 4 ديسمبر 1844 إلى 21 مارس 1847 ومن 21 مارس 1847 إلى 17 أغسطس 1848 ومن ثم من 6 نوفمبر 1851 حتى وفاته في 14 أبريل 1865، بعد تعيينه رئيسا مدى الحياة في عام 1854.[1][2][3] وخلال مسيرته العسكرية والرئاسة، جديدة - ) كانت دول في أمريكا الوسطى تواجه العديد من المشاكل: الغزوات وليام ووكر، ومحاولات ليبرالية للإطاحة الكنيسة الكاثوليكية والسلطة الأرستقراطيين '، والحرب الأهلية في الولايات المتحدة والحرب في المكسيك تحت بينيتو خواريز. وأدى ذلك إلى ظهور الزعامات المطلقة، وهو مصطلح يشير إلى قادة الشعبي الكاريزمية بين السكان الأصليين. وكان العديد من الزعامات المطلقة الوطنية والإقليمية المعنية في السلطة لتحقيق مكاسب خاصة بهم. كان كاريرا استثناء حيث تولى حقا مصالح الاغلبية الهندية غواتيمالا إلى القلب.
