جاز لاتيني

الجاز اللاتيني هو نوع من موسيقى الجاز مع إيقاعات أمريكية لاتينية، وينقسم إلى نوعين: جاز إفريقي كوبي مبني إيقاعيا على موسيقى الرقص الشعبية الكوبية، مع أجزاء إيقاعية توظف جمل موسيقية مكررة بنفس الحدة أو إيقاع الكلافي؛ وجاز إفريقي برازيلي يتضمن بوسا نوفا والسامبا.

الصيغ

يمكن عزف الجاز اللاتيني في مجموعات صغيرة أو كبيرة كما هو الحال بالنسبة لأغلب أنواع الجاز. تستخدم المجموعات الصغيرة صيغة البيبوب التي كانت شائعة في عقد 1950 في أمريكا، بحيث يعزف الموسيقيون لحنا رئيسيا، يعزف عدة موسيقيين مقطع سولو مرتجلا، ثم يعزف الجميع اللحن ثانية. في فرق الجاز اللاتيني يكون الضرب على الآلات الإيقاعية على هيئة سولو عادة. تؤلف مقطوعات الجاز اللاتيني المعاصر من طرف موسيقيين مثل هيرميتو باسكوال غالبا لهذه المجموعات الصغيرة، مع مقاطع سولوإيقاعية وعدة آلات نفخ.[1]
