تصنف هذه القائمة المناطق الحضرية في أوروبا حسب سكانها وفقًا لثلاثة مصادر مختلفة؛ وهي تشمل المناطق الحضرية التي يزيد عدد سكانها عن مليون نسمة.

المصادر

تشمل القائمة المناطق الحضرية وفقًا لدراسات ESPON و يوروستات ومنظمة التعاون الاقتصادي والتنمية فقط. لهذا السبب، لا يتم تضمين بعض المناطق الحضرية، مثل منطقة جنوة الإيطالية الكبرى (يزيد عدد سكانها عن 1.510.000 اعتبارًا من عام 2012 وفقًا لتقرير "CityRailway" الرسمي ) ، في هذه البيانات، مع بيانات من معاهد المسح الإحصائي الأخرى.
